Food is an integral part of our day at Headway House, encouraging and supporting survivors of brain injury to learn or re-learn life skills and work together. We feed between 35 and 45 people every day but normally won’t know the exact number until an hour or so before serving lunch but always eat or give away everything we cook! Here’s an on-the-fly recipe we cooked last week…
1 Greek feta cheese DOP
1 or 2 Eggs
Panko bread crumbs
Neon roasted vegetables:
(Don’t worry if you don’t have all the veg, just use up what you’ve got in your fridge and cupboards!)
Turmeric tahini sauce:
2 heads of garlic
Salt & pepper to taste
Don’t worry about leaving the skin on carrots – saves the food waste!
Why not learn more about Sammy’s charity?
Our Day Service, based at Headway House in Hackney, is a community which helps brain injury survivors to make the most of their skills, abilities and interests. The centre offers activities, outings and therapies, as well as professional and peer support. We run lunch clubs, baking groups and provide a place where members can bring and develop their own recipes.
